Experience the waterways of 200 years past with a tour to Yuquot (Friendly Cove), home to Chief Maquinna and site of the first encounter with Captain James Cook in 1774. Enjoy a refreshing day outdoors as you explore and walk a portion of the Nootka Trail along side the Pacific Ocean on the west coast of Nootka Island. Learn about European relationships with the introduction of gold mining in Zeballos and lumber and fishing industries in Tahsis. These remote coastal communities have museums and landmarks to share their past with you. Zeballos is a quaint old mining town offering tours of Privateer Mine and Tahsis is based on an impressive forestry history.
